President John Dramani Mahama returned home Sunday, from Abuja Nigeria, where he held discussions with his colleague, President Goodluck Jonathan.
The discussions, described by officials of the presidency as very fruitful, centered on a number of issues - key among them were the completion of work on the West African Gas Pipeline and also President Mahama's proposal to colleagues along the Gulf of Guinea for a combined effort to fighting piracy.
Before flying down to Accra, President Mahama made a stopover in the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria where he was received by the Governor of the State, Godswill Akpabio, the Speaker and members of the State House of Representatives, Commissioners and former Governors of the State.
Accompanied by Ghana's High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Baba Kamara, Deputy Information Minister Designate Felix Kwakye Ofosu and officials of the presidency, President John Mahama encouraged the two countries to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperate meaningfully to bring development to the two countries.
