Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has joined RSC Anderlecht on a six-month loan with an option to buy.
The Belgium side will have the opportunity to make the deal permanent at the end of the season if they’re able to meet Red Bull Salzburg’s demand of 2.5 million euros.
Ashimeru has only featured in 11 games this season, starting just 5 games.
It is reported that the move is to help the Ghanaian get more minutes under his belt this season.
Anderlecht coach Vincent Kompany is also believed to be an admirer of the 23-year-old midfielder.
Sports Director at Anderlecht, Peter Verbeke believes the Ghanaian will be a good fit for the club.
"Majeed is a young, versatile midfielder with a lot of verticality in his game. He was schooled withing the Red Bull philosophy, meaning his profile matches what we look for in a player. On top of that, Majeed has a good acceleration and he loves to infiltrate.”
Ashimeru won the domestic double with Red Bull Salzburg last season making a combined 33 appearances whilst scoring two goals and assisting six.
Granada and Copenhagen were also interested in securing the services of the former WAFA man.
