A 47- year-old carpenter, James Debrah has been arrested by the police in Baatsona for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old daughter for almost a year.
The victim has been living with her mother, after her parents separated about two years ago. James had requested that his daughter (the victim) visited him on weekends at his house in Sakumono, a suburb of Accra to assist him with cooking and cleaning.
Little did she know that her father needed more than help with cooking and cleaning from her.
According to the Acting National Commander of Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), ACP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong, James Debrah repeatedly had sex with his daughter every time she visited him and warned her she would die if she disclosed his act to anyone.
A medical reported cited by Joy News confirms that the young girl has indeed been defiled.
ACP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong says the girl is traumatised after she admitted her father’s deeds to the Police.
She also confirmed that James has been arrested and is being processed for court.
