A 42-year-old male driver, who was captured on an audio-visual tape, assaulting a woman at Cape Coast has been arrested.
The suspect, Godwin Bajor, is reported to have assaulted the unidentified woman on the night of March 6, when Ghana celebrated its 65th Independence anniversary.
He was arrested after the police launched an investigation into the viral audio-vidual tape.
In a Facebook post, the Police revealed that "the victim subsequently lodged a complaint of assault at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), Cape Coast, today Sunday, March 13, 2022."
Mr Godwin Bajor is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the Police have thanked the public "for their partnership with the Police in getting the suspect arrested to face justice."
Also, the Service has indicated that further details will be communicated by the Central Regional Police Command in due course.
