The body of a 41-year-old mason suspected to have committed suicide has been found at Odorkor, a suburb of Accra.
Ishmael Ashong’s body was found by his nine-year old son, Franklin Ashong at dawn on Tuesday in a room he occupies with a woman and their four children.
The young boy immediately informed some residents after he tried but failed to wake his father up. He thought his father was asleep.
According to residents, the deceased had an argument with his partner on Monday evening over money and threatened to beat her up.
Out of fear, Evelyn Amoah left the house to pass the night at a friends'.
He was alone with his four children at the time the unfortunate incident occurred.
Joy News’ Matilda Wemegah who was at the scene of the incident also gathered that the deceased attempted to take his life last year but was found out and warned not to attempt to take his life. This time however, he succeeded.
It is unclear, what pushed him to take his life.
