Wonders, they say, would never end; and this maxim was given real meaning when a man on heat, grabbed a female dog which belong to his friend and had sexual intercourse with the animal. The man, Frank Degbe, a 25-year-old mechanic and resident of Abiotsewe, a suburb of Tema New Town, who has now earned the nick-name ‘Dog Lover’ pleaded not guilty when he appeared before the Tema circuit court ‘B’ where his plea was not taken.Narrating the facts of the case in court, Chief Inspector Evelyn Susuawu said the accused person, when he needed to satisfy his sexual desire on November 17, 2009, settled on the said dog, perhaps because he realized that it was going to be difficult to land a woman. She said the accused person, who was sleeping with his brother in front of their father’s spare parts shop at Abiotsewe, sneaked out in the middle of the night and pounced on the she-dog, penetrated it and began pumping his sexual organ into the hapless animal. The perplexed dog could not stand still and therefore was seen moving around the compound with Degbe’s penis deeply inside it.Chief Inspector Susuawu noted that the brother of the accused person who woke up just around that same time to urinate, was so shocked to see the strange spectacle unfolding before his eyes. The brother, according to the prosecution, said he felt like vomiting when he saw his sibling in the sexual act with the dog and that Degbe, whom he said was busily enjoying himself, did not even notice the presence of his younger brother who had been watching him for some time. She continued by stressing that the brother called another tenant in the house and together they arrested Degbe and sent him to the area’s police station. After thorough investigations, the accused person was charged with the offence of unnatural carnal knowledge and put before the court. He has been remanded in police custody to make an appearance on a later date.
