One person is reported dead allegedly from gun-shot following violent clashes between uniformed personnel believed to be police and soldiers and residents of Manso-Nkran in the Ashanti Region.
The victim believed to be in his thirties was hit by a bullet suspected to have been fired by one of the security personnel.
The armed men were in the town in the Amansie West District to quell rioting by natives over relocation from a concession by a mining firm.
The mining company had provided alternative houses for property owners but they insisted the structures fall below specifications agreed on for the relocation.
