The Vice President, John Dramani Mahama has lauded the fast pace at which the Metro Mass Transit service is growing in the country.
He says the government is highly impressed with the success story of the transport service.
The Vice President cancelled a planned visit to the Volta Region which has been hit by army worms to commission one hundred new buses for the MMT.
According to Mr. Mahama, the continuous growth of MMT is a shining example of continuity in governance.
Mr. Mahama expressed satisfaction that more female drivers have been contracted as drivers for the buses. He also expressed hope that this move contributes to the reduction of road accidents. He also challenged the management of the MMT to ensure that the next crop of buses they acquire are disabled-friendly.
