Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson and his fiancée Rada Darling have announced the arrival of their first child together, a baby boy affectionately named “Lil Mikey.” The entertainer shared a video from the hospital delivery room on Instagram, capturing the moment he first laid eyes on his son. Blackson could be heard whispering in awe before bursting into laughter at discovering his child shares the same birthmark he has.
In the joyful clip, Blackson lightened the mood by joking about his son’s lighter complexion. He then turned to Darling, still on the delivery bed, to plant a tender kiss and praise her strength throughout the birth. “Happiest day of my life and no DNA needed lol,” he captioned the post.
This new arrival makes Blackson a father of four. He joins older son Michael Jr., 26, and 17‑year‑old twins Niko and Noah from previous relationships. For Darling, an American realtor and television personality who starred alongside Blackson on VH1’s Couples Retreat, this is her first child. The couple became engaged in July 2021 when Blackson proposed live on The Breakfast Club radio show.
Blackson and Darling went public with their pregnancy in February. At the time Darling humorously insisted her growing bump was not “a food baby” but confirmed it was indeed their little miracle. By May they celebrated with an elegant baby shower surrounded by loved ones, with Darling expressing deep gratitude for the support.

Known as “The African King of Comedy,” Blackson has built a global fan base with his unfiltered humor and candid takes on life, culture and identity. He is currently on tour but showed a more tender side as he embraced fatherhood. In a second video from the hospital he playfully asked his newborn which path he would choose in life, comedian or athlete, jokingly ruling out a career in American football. Fans and fellow celebrities flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating Blackson’s growing family. As he cradles baby Lil Mikey for the first time, the comedian’s signature wit and warmth promise many more memorable moments ahead.
