President John Mills on Tuesday cut the sod for a 15 kilometre Awoshie-Pokuase stretch of road in the Greater Accra Region.
Road and Highways Minister, Joe Gidisu who was present at the sod cutting ceremony told Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng the construction will in no small way improve the economic and social activities of the sprawling community.
The project is to be funded by the Government of Ghana, Alliance Française de développement and the Africa Development Bank (AfDB) with each contributing $7m, $53m and $30 dollars respectively.
The project, the minister explained is a major breakthrough for the residents in the community most of who have complained about the poor nature of the road.
