Christian Council of Ghana has said that the sudden transition of President Mills has come as deep shock and described it as a great loss to the nation at the critical moment of Ghana’s democratic development.
The Christian Council sent a message of condolence to the First Lady, Ernestina Naadu Mills and the family, and other relatives.
Speaking to Joy FM, the President of the Council, Rev. Fred Degbe described the loss as a sad moment for the nation and called on all and sundry to remain calm and prayerful.
According to Rev. Degbe, in spite of all the divisions that exist in the country, he was our elected president therefore a symbol of unity for the nation adding that losing the president in such manner was sad and tragic.
Rev. Degbe described the late John Mills “epitome of the country, father of the nation...symbol of our cohesiveness”.
He advised Ghanaians “to rally around as a dynamic and vibrant nation to see that our lives continues and arrangement for the governance of this nation goes through as smoothly as it can.”
