SECOND RUNNER-up of Miss Malaika 2006, Miskelly Brock-Smith is determined to embark on a peace project in the Northern Region to help intensify the current peace and unity process being enjoyed in the area. She has joined in the music jamboree dubbed, “Beacon of Peace”, to hit the three regions in the North on February 24.She is now “Face of Beacon of Peace”, as such, would be using her face to foster peace among the people of the North.During the concert to be held in Tamale, she would deliver a message on peace and unity as well as stage other artistic performances.According to the 22-year-old woman, in an interview with Beatwaves in Accra, she is happy to embark on nothing but a peace project. This, she said, could help improve development in the region, since the vast sums of money spent on settling conflicts could be diverted into development projects.“I love mostly people from the Northern Region,” she said, urging them to always try to tolerate one another to prevent any form of misunderstanding.Miskelly believes that with her position, she has more to offer society and this is just the beginning; she would strive hard to encourage society in peace-building.Delving a little into her life, she said she aspired to become a professional midwife. She enjoys traveling, surfing the net, reading, cooking and taking good care of people.Last year, she snatched the 2nd runner-up position from seven other women who partook in the Miss Malaika pageant. She received ¢5million cash, a fully loaded personal computer, a Gold signet jewelry, fabrics from ABC wax prints, took a fun trip to South Africa besides other consolation prizes.Daily Guide
