An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a 29-year-old mobile banker, Aziz Suleman, to five years imprisonment for stealing GH¢70,840 from Abii National Savings and Loans.
Suleman, charged with stealing, pleaded guilty and was convicted by Mr. Jojo Amoah Hagan, who also ordered him to refund GH¢58,840.
He had earlier paid GH¢12,000 to the police during investigations.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Patience Avorga, said the complainant, Jennifer Benninig, branch manager at Abii National, discovered on May 9, 2025, that GH¢45,000 had gone missing and reported the case to the Kaneshie Police.
Suleman was arrested and admitted the offence.
A subsequent audit, conducted in his presence, confirmed the total stolen amount was GH¢70,840.
