AS Monaco finally returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 as Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu powered home an early header to seal a 1–0 victory over Toulouse FC.
The breakthrough came in just the third minute when Kassoum Ouattara whipped in a perfect cross that Salisu met with a thunderous header, leaving goalkeeper Guillaume Restes with no chance.
Goalkeeper Philipp Köhn produced a couple of vital saves to keep the visitors at bay, helping secure a well-deserved clean sheet.
Speaking after the game, a delighted Salisu expressed relief and joy at both the result and his contribution.
“We got a win in front of our fans, so I’m really happy,” he said. “
It’s a good feeling. After like 5 games without a win, it’s a good feeling. I’m really happy with the goal and clean sheet,” Salisu added.
The victory marked Monaco’s first win under Pocognoli, lifting them to fourth place on the Ligue 1 table.
It also ended their five-match winless streak in all competitions.
