The mother of a 4-year-old boy has appealed to the general public for financial support to enable her son undergo urgent surgery.
The boy, Felix Amaning, has developed a tumour, leading to abnormal swelling of his head, which doctors say needs crucial attention.
“The doctors said I should not delay as in no time, his eyes could be affected and make him go blind, and the constant pain in his legs could also paralyze him.
“I am appealing to loved ones for support, the amount involved is very huge, I am unemployed and begging for help.”
Madam Georgina Amponsah fears she will lose her son as the doctor’s indication is that Felix may not survive his 5th birthday if surgery is not conducted on him urgently.
Medical doctors are demanding a sum of GH¢30,223.65 before the surgery can be conducted.
But, the parents of Felix say they have spent all their resources on medication in other to reduce his pain since December, 2020 and are in dire need of public support to enable him to undergo the surgery.
“I noticed a swelling on his head in December last year, myself and his father, we took him to different health facilities until one doctor referred us to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
“Now we have nothing on us. He is unable to sleep and keeps crying at night. I am pleading to everyone for the support,” she said.
The condition has currently paralyzed the four-year-old and it gets worse by the day.
“I am appealing to loved ones for support, the amount involved is very huge,” his mother stressed.
