In December a group of students from the Journalists for Human Rights chapters of the the African University College of Communications and Ghana Institute of Journalism embarked on a trip to Wli Todzi, an isolated community in Ghana’s Volta Region.
Barring a seven-kilometer road through Togo, the only way to get to the village is a three-hour mountain path leading from the famous tourist attraction of Wli to Wli Todzi. The remote nature of the village and the lack of access to transport infrastructure significantly impacts their access to healthcare, transportation and education. The government is yet to make good on their promise to build a road to the village.
Students Paul Agbo and Ruth Okan-Adjetey put together this documentary on the educational challenges facing young people in Wli Todzi.
