A prominent member of the Movement for Change (M4C), Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has announced the movement’s commitment to integrating Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) like the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) into the state's policy formulation process.
Speaking at the GhIE Manifesto Series, Mr Asamoa emphasised that M4C’s vision for national governance includes elevating CSOs as key state partners.
He explained that this would ensure that their expertise is harnessed more effectively at the initial stages of policy development.
“Movement for Change intends to make CSOs and social input an integral part of state policy formulation processes. We will advocate for public support of your initiatives so that the state can benefit directly from your expertise at the beginning of policy formulation rather than marginalizing you,” he said.
He further stressed the importance of GhIE’s role in participation, monitoring, and evaluation, noting that the inclusion of their policies would lead to more comprehensive and effective governance.
His statement is in line with M4C’s broader agenda to foster a collaborative approach to governance, where the insights and recommendations of professional bodies and CSOs are prioritised and integrated into the national decision-making framework.
