The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Mponua, Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah has presented a set of jerseys and a football each to some communities in his constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The beneficiary communities include Kaporo; Tanodumase; Sreso-Timpon; Kwame Dwaa-Sreso; Anyinamsu Number One; Kotokuom and Akonkye.
Mr Asiamah, who presented some of the items to Nyinawusu Wonder Club, a Third Division club, called on the playing body to take their training seriously to enable them to develop their talents to meet the challenges to make a mark in the sport.
The MP appealed to the youth in the area to respect the elderly and desist from hooliganism, alcoholism and drug abuse, which he said were injurious to their health.
Mr Asiamah called on Ghanaians to support and pray for the national football team; the Black Stars to enable them to win the Ghana 2008 MTN African Cup of Nations trophy.
Mr Edward Adunti, New Patriotic Party Chairman for Nyinawusu polling station, received the items.
