Asante Kotoko advanced to the next stage of the MTN FA Cup on Monday, December 26, following a penalty shootout win over Bechem United.
The Porcupine Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game with Steven Mukwala hitting a brace.
Isaiah Nyarko pulled a goal for the Hunters before the halftime break with Francis Twene getting Bechem level before full time.
However, Frederick Asare turned up the hero for Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in the absence of Danlad Ibrahim as he saved from the shootout to help Kotoko progress.
Yussif Mubarik, Richard Boadu, Enock Morrison and Richmond Lamptey all scored from the spot for Seydou Zerbo side while Kofi Agbesimah and Aaron Essel scored Bechemās only kicks.
