The telecom giant, MTN Ghana, launched its annual sustainability week on November 10, 2025, at a ceremony held at the company's headquarters in Accra.
The launch, according to the company, reaffirms its dedication to environmental sustainability and ESG principles under its Ambition 2025 Strategic Commitment.

The launch, which was under the theme: Sustainability, our Collective Responsibility- Driving Impact, Deepening Commitment, featured an unveiling of the company’s eco-friendly biodegradable SIM card as part of its support for environmental sustainability.
A donation of an electronic wheelchair was made to the company’s senior front desk Executive, highlighting MTN Ghana's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

The week-long celebration, led by Chief Corporate Service and Sustainability Officer Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe and other management members, outlined activities such as "Lunch and Learn," "Eco Talk," and "Bright Conversations," aimed at promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about environmental and social issues among employees and the public.

Speaking at the launch, Adwoa Wiafe Afriyie emphasised MTN Ghana's commitment to sustainability, stating that the company is dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and the communities it serves. She highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.
She said part of the company at its Head Office uses solar energy for its operations.
The Sustainability Week is part of MTN Ghana's broader efforts to promote environmental sustainability and reduce its environmental footprint.

The company has implemented various initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, promoting renewable energy, and reducing waste.
The event was attended by senior management staff, employees, and stakeholders, who participated in discussions and activities focused on sustainability and environmental conservation.
The launch also provided an opportunity for MTN Ghana to engage with the community and promote its sustainability agenda.

MTN Ghana's Sustainability Week is expected to run until November 17, 2025, with various activities scheduled throughout the week.
The company is committed to continuing its sustainability efforts beyond the week-long celebration, embedding sustainability into its business operations and culture.
Alongside the launch was an exhibition on recycled products held by one of the country's sustainability advocates, Makafui Awuku.
