This represents 11% of the SIMs re-registered
The total number of outstanding disconnected SIMs currently stands at 4.9 million at the end of September 2023.
In compliance with the SIM re-registration directive from the NCA, the leading telecom firm in Ghana blocked 5.4 million SIMs that were not registered with the Ghana card as of May 31, 2023.
But it was able to re-register about one-eleventh at the end of September 2023
This consequently decreased its subscriber base by 9.3% to 25.8 million.
The telecommunication giant concluded that the national SIM re-registration exercise and its efforts will focus on ensuring that all customers who require a re-registration have support to seamlessly complete the re-registration.
