Telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana has presented a brand new Hyundai i10 to Gina Boakye Koduah, chief executive officer of Airtymn Enterprise as the overall best mobile money agent in the Greater Accra region.
This is in recognition for exhibiting professionalism and integrity in the discharge of her duties as a mobile money agent.
An elated Madam Koduah also received a certificate for a valuable service to MTN in the capital and expressed her profound gratitude to the telecom company.
She said the award will propel her to remain committed to the rules and regulations of mobile money operations in the country.
Aside her, other hardworking agents received mobile phones, motorbikes, television sets, MTN souvenirs and other valuable items at a colourful ceremony held at Swiss Spirit Hotel in Accra.
Speaking at the event, General Manager for Mobile Financial Services (MFS), Eli Hini said the award is to acknowledge agents who exhibite professionalism and integrity in their business.
He noted that, the rules of engagement for the service are comprehensively guided by a framework set by MTN Ghana, Bank of Ghana and the security administration.
As part of efforts to strengthen them, Mr. Hini revealed that, MTN Ghana is collaborating with the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to do background checks on future applicants among other considerations before granting permits for them to operate as agents.
This, he stated is because MTN is well poised to use innovative technology to make money transfer transactions much more simple and convenient for its existing and prospective subscribers.
The event was crowned with a splendid performance by award-winning Takoradi-based musician, Kofi Kinaata.
