It was a scene of fun and excitement at the national theater last Wednesday as the 12 finalists of season 4 of the MTN Hitmaker took to the stage in a double packed unveiling and first performance show.

One after the other, the contestants Yaw, Awurama, Gunshot, Twice, Abena, Adjoa, CJ, Efo, Glory, Kidi, Colours and One Day performed their own renditions of popular tracks.

They left nothing to chance as they were determined to make a good first impression on not only the audience but also on Okyeame Kwame, Eazzy and Akwesi Aboagye, judges for season 4.

The competition for the biggest prize in GH reality TV has fiercely began, the whooping prize package of GHC 100,000 is up for grabs and every one of the 12 contestant wants to win it.

This showed in their confidence on stage and their performances, the MTN Hitmaker season 4 contestants mean business.

They have done their part, Colours gave us a rendition of Freddie Mayway’s “Miss Lolo”, Yaw sang Efya’s “One of Your Own” so beautifully one would have thought that the song was his own, Efo’s changed Banky W’s “Yes/No to a whole new track as he brought his unique style and personality to bare on the song.

Twice did not only bring us twice of good music but made Afriyie’s Love of my Life his own.

Then came Abena, she mellowed the tempo in the auditorium with her slow version of Duncan Mighty’s “Obianuju”. Glory maintained the tempo as he performed his own renditions of “pon di thing”, “Mr Orio” and “My Woman, My Everything”.

Then CJ found a way to perfectly blend his rap skills with that of VVIP’s as he performed the trio’s hit track “Skolom”.

After this, it was Adjoa turn to take the notch a little bit higher and she did just that by hitting all the high notes in Efya’s song “Best in Me”, that wasn’t all for the night, Kidi impressed the judges as he performed his own rendition of beat maker Richie’s “When I Get You”.

The final batch of contestants for the night proved to all that the best as saved for the last, for instance Awurama brought her fun personality of Omawumi’s “Love Wantintin” whilst one day and gunshot crown it all with exciting performances.

One Day with his performance of P-Square’s “Testimony” could give the duo a run for their money on any day, then came gunshot. He charged the atmosphere with his energetic performance of Samini’s “Linda”.

These dazzling performances notwithstanding, they would need your votes if they would survive eviction.

Yes, their awesome performances may not be enough to keep them in the running to winning the GHc100,000 prize package, but your votes would be just what they need.
