Multichoice Ghana has announced major discounts on its DStv and GOtv services, aimed at providing more value to customers as the country’s economy shows signs of recovery.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Corporate Affairs Manager at Multichoice Ghana, Nii Amah Dagadu, said the initiative is in direct response to customer feedback and the improving strength of the Ghanaian cedi.
“As a listening brand, we’ve heard what customers have asked for,” he said. “The economy is rebounding, and we’ve seen how the cedi is performing against other world currencies. For that reason, we want to pass on the savings back to our customers.”
The campaign, which began June 16 and runs through the end of July, includes three key offers. First, the company has reduced the price of its high-performance DStv decoders from GH₵169 to GH₵89.
“That’s huge,” he noted.
Second, all subscribers, whether active, inactive, or new, will benefit from a free upgrade to a higher package when they pay for any package.
“Whatever package you choose, once you pay for it, we upgrade you to the next higher package,” Mr Dagadu explained. “If you want compact, pay for family and we will give you compact. If you want premium, pay for compact plus and we will give you premium.”
The third offer makes it easier for sports fans to follow the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup. For just GH₵99, viewers can access all 63 matches through the most affordable package.
“This is the best time to get connected,” he added, urging both new and returning customers to take advantage ahead of next year’s World Cup, for which SuperSport holds broadcasting rights.
The “We Got You” upgrade deal also applies to GOtv users, who will enjoy similar tiered upgrades by paying for one package level below their preferred tier.
"The 'We GOT You' offer is the upgrade that we’ve given to all subscribers, and this is not just on DSTV, it is also available on GOtv. So our Gotv subscribers as well can also enjoy this special upgrade offer which we are asking you, whichever package you want, just pay for the package below that one and we will upgrade you to the next higher package,"
“This is running to the end of July. And there is a bigger one coming up," he added.
