Five journalists with the Multimedia Group are up for honours tonight at the West Africa Media Excellence Awards.
Manasseh Azure Awuni, Justice Baidoo, Seth Kwame Boateng and Richard Kwadwo Nyarko all with Joy News and Joy Business’ Daryl Kwawu have been shortlisted for the awards.
They are among 15 other journalists selected across the sub-region.
Seth Kwame Boateng picked up the highest award in the maiden event held last year.
Central Regional Correspondent Richard Kwadwo Nyarko told Joy News the nomination alone is enough recognition and he is looking forward to a great event.
The story that got him the nomination was the famous coverage of teachers and students of Assin Asamankese who were using stones for their ICT lessons.
As a result of his report, the school had new computers provided for the school.
