In a historic moment for African journalism and climate-tech storytelling, Multimedia Group’s award-winning photojournalist David Andoh has been invited by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ghana to join the global tech and innovation elite delegation to PLANETech Week 2025, which is expected to open on Sunday, December 7, in Israel.
He is among the few journalists selected from the African continent to attend the weeklong tech and innovation event hosted by the Middle East’s tech and innovation giant, Israel.
David Andoh and the team of journalists will explore how Israel has become one of the world’s most powerful hubs for climate, defence, and agricultural technology.
From 6–12 December 2025, David will be immersed in a week-long programme themed “Inside Israel’s Climate Innovation”, joining top global investors, corporate leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and beyond.
“This is not just a press trip in the ordinary sense,” the invitation reads. “It is a curated Global Mission designed to foster meaningful connections, showcase groundbreaking technologies, and shape the future of climate solutions.”
David is expected to provide in-depth news features, photo stories, and real-time social media coverage, becoming Africa’s eyes and voice inside one of the most exclusive climate-tech events on the planet.
David’s selection is no accident. Known for his powerful visual storytelling on environment, development, and human-impact issues across Ghana, he has consistently used his lens to highlight climate challenges like coastal erosion, deforestation, plastic pollution, and the search for sustainable solutions.
His work has reached millions through MyJoyOnline and Joy FM, making him the perfect bridge between Israel’s cutting-edge climate innovations and Africa’s urgent need for scalable, adaptable technologies.
What is PLANETech Week 2025?
Organised by PLANETech—a non-profit joint venture between the Israel Innovation Institute and the Consensus Business Group—PLANETech Week (7–11 December 2025) is the flagship annual gathering of the global climate-tech ecosystem.
With over 1,000 active climate-tech startups, more than $9.5 billion raised since 2018, and over 500 multinational R&D centres, Israel has emerged as a superpower in deep-tech solutions for energy, water, agriculture, food, and mobility.
This year’s theme, “Inside Israel’s Climate Innovation”, will spotlight how Israeli ingenuity is delivering real-world answers to the climate crisis, answers that could transform Africa and the Global South.
