The Asunafo North District Chief Executive Alhaji Ishak Abubakar Bonsu, has advised Muslim youth not to allow politicians to use them for negative acts.He said they should rather take education seriously and acquire skills that will help better their lot.
He was addressing members of Masha Allah, a Muslim Youth Association at its fund raising ceremony in support of King Faisal Primary School at Mim.It is widely believed that Muslim youth are engaged by politicians to foment trouble in many parts of the countries.At the Asawase by-election in 2006 for instance, the two main political parties, the NPP and the NDC were reported to have sent mainly Muslim youth to the constituency to intimidate people.
The DCE stressed that the NPP government had prioritised education to give Ghanaians employable skills.
That, he said was demonstrated by the massive provision of school infrastructure in many educational institutions across the country.
Cataloguing other programmes being implemented by the government, Alhaji Bonsu mentioned the Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme and the access course for pupil teachers.“All these are aimed at bringing education to the door steps of every Ghanaian to reduce poverty”, he noted.
He gave assurance that the District Assembly would give the school the needed assistance.
Alhaji Amin Bonsu, National Chairman of Masha Allah, appealed to Moslems and Christians to ensure that the 2008 elections were incident-free.Source: GNA
