Former Member of Parliament for the Ledzokuku constituency, Dr Okoe Boye says he is committed to making the world and his constituency a better place with or without anticipated support from his constituents.
This comes after his friends within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Deputy Communications Director, Afia Akoto and Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, a presidential staffer made some "unsavoury comments" belittling the Ledzokuku constituents for voting out their MP.
"It is ok to be disappointed in the results but no need to be despondent. It is ok to be sad momentarily but no need to be sour.
"These are my people and I am their son. I am committed to making the world a better place and that commitment will remain sure with or without anticipated support from my own," Dr Okoe Boye said.
Nii Teiko Tagoe wondered if the people of the constituency hoped to continue enjoying his medical consultations for free after having voted him out, while Afia Akoto described them as having a "backward behaviour".
"So my Teshie people who voted for Dr Bernard Okeo Boye out, will they still go to the LEKMA on Mondays for the same Okoe Boye to attend to them for free? You let me end here before the "s" comes out of my mouth," said Nii Teiko Tagoe.
Reacting to the said post, Afia Akoto wrote, "They no get shame bro. Do you know last week some went there just to see if he was really around? Backward behaviour".
Dr Okoye Boye, unhappy with the attacks on the people of Teshie has urged his NPP friends to exercise restraint with their comments.
"I have read some news in the media that seek to draw attention to some unsavoury comments from friends within NPP, towards my Ledzokuku folks.
"I would like to urge all, who feel pained by my inability to retain the seat, to exercise restraint when it comes to expressing an opinion on the recent Parliamentary elections in Ledzokuku," his Facebook post read.
Adding that, "when the game gets tough, the best way out is to lace your boots and not to be so occupied with the attitude of your opponent.
