Afrobeat and hiplife artiste, KiDi has revealed that he had his first real kiss at the age of 7.
According to him, it happened by chance when they were playing 'Maame ne Paapa' (Mum and Dad), a childhood game.
Speaking on The Doreen Avio Show, which airs on Joy Prime, the musician said he believes many kids at that age may have had a similar experience.
"I think it was accidental. Yes, there's an accidental kiss. You guys know what I'm talking about, don't you? It was accidental because it was one of those games. It was obviously 'Maama ne Paapa.' I think I was seven," he said.
KiDi also revealed that he had a troubled childhood.
This defiant behaviour, he said, got him into trouble everywhere he found himself, including school and home.
The "Gyal Dem Sugar" hitmaker said his father, who had had enough of his troubles, ordered for him to be stripped and sent out of the house.
He was forced to change his ways in order to avoid his father’s wrath.
"My dad called my big sister. He was like, ‘strip him naked; everything.' No supporter, nothing, and then, when you’re done, put on his church shoes. So picture this: a young kid, naked, wearing only church shoes."
"My dad said, ‘since you want to act all grown up, leave my house and go and live in your own house.’ I’m still naked and wearing my church shoes. I started crying and walking out, and he called me back, and things have never been the same, so I feel like that punishment stuck with me more than any beating I have ever received," the Lynx Entertainment signee indicated.
The 2022 VGMA Artiste of the Year also stated that all the tattoos on his body have significant meanings that are very dear to his heart.
Some of the tattoos he said represent his faith, his mother, and his son’s birthday, as well as one that helps him deal with anxiety.
He further stated that his favourite meals are fufu, banku, and beans.
The Doreen Avio Show airs on Joy Prime every Saturday at 5pm.
It also repeats on Wednesdays at 1pm. You can also get it on Joy Prime YouTube channel.
Joy Prime is on DSTV281 and on GoTV180.
