Wing Commander Eric Dakurah (Rtd), Nadowli District Chief Executive on Monday appealed to rich and healthy people to spend a little time with their sick relatives as that could encourage them to speedy recovery.
"We do not need to abandon them today because they are sick. Sickness is like rain which falls on every man's roof and so the more we care for each other, the better we live to achieve our goals".
Commander Dakurah made this appeal as part of his New Year message to the people of the Nadowli district when he visited patients at the Nadowli district hospital to encourage and fraternize with them.
The DCE, who also distributed biscuits and soft drinks to the patients, said it was a gesture to bring the New Year festivities to the doorsteps of the sick and to ensure that boredom and tiredness in them were relieved.
He also appealed to politicians in the district to use 2008 as a year of peace and unity and should not allow themselves to be divided by the forthcoming general elections.
"We have only one Nadowli District, and it is only you and I who can make it what we want it to be and the earlier we came together, the better for us", he said.Source: GNA
