The 2008 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated relief items to the victims of the recent floods that devastated parts of Ashaiman. He was in the company of Mr. Yaw Osarfo Maafo, Hon. Mike Ocquaye, MP Dome Kwabenya, Lord Commey, former NPP National Organiser, and his Victory 2012 Campaign Team.In a brief speech to the victims, Nana Akufo-Addo said “I join many other Ghanaians to sympathise with all of you in these trying times. The sad matter of floods and many other natural disasters continue to be a bane to our society. In these very difficult moments, I appeal to all of you to be steadfast and know that the Lord is in control.”Nana Akufo-Addo also walked through the devastated areas to see for himself the extent of damage caused by the floods.Nana Akufo-Addo and his Victory 2012 Campaign Team then moved on to the Queens Hotel to meet with the delegates of the Ashaiman constituency where he appealed to them to elect him once more to lead the party into the 2012 general election.Nana Akufo-Addo said he was optimistic that once the NPP is united and with hard work, “our party will win the votes of the great majority of the Ghanaian people in 2012.”He appealed to delegates to “listen to what many other Ghanaians are saying in your communities and if there’s one name that majority of the people are calling for, then vote that person as flag bearer so that our work of winning back power in 2012 will be easier.”Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
