Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei emerged victorious in the Okaikwei North parliamentary primary.
She secured 341 votes out of the total 850 cast by delegates.
The Okaikwei North constituency witnessed a competitive race with six aspirants vying to become the next parliamentary candidate on the NPP ticket.
The contenders included Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie, who received 27 votes, Prince Owusu Mensah with six votes, Akoto Alberta Afia Asomaniwa who polled 228, and Nyarko Stephen Adipa, gathering 108 votes.
Fuseini Issah, the former MP for the area, secured 114 votes.
Earlier in the process, confusion erupted within the constituency when individuals believed to be non-delegates attempted to cast votes.
Despite this early disruption, the primary proceeded, culminating in Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei's victory with a substantial number of votes.
