Prosecutors in Nana Darkwa Baafi’s case appear to be struggling to find substantial evidence to successfully prosecute the NPP activist.Nana Darkwa is standing trial for spreading false information intended to cause fear and panic when he suggested during a radio discussion that Former President Rawlings personally torched his residence in the February 14 incident. The case has been adjourned repeatedly, apparently because prosecutors have not been able to adduce adequate evidence to back the case.At Thursday’s hearing the case was adjourned to July 8, because prosecutors did not appear to be ready with any evidence with which to proceed.A member of the legal team of Nana Darkwa, Mike Oquaye Jnr., told Joy News that, “we believe that patience is a virtue and we are being patient to wait for the prosecution to be able gather their evidence.”He said the defence intended to appeal to the trial judge at today’s sitting to dismiss the case for lack of evidence but decided to indulge the prosecution.Mr Oquaye however noted a strong case will be made for the dismissal of the case at the next adjourned date if the prosecution fails to present any credible evidence before the court.Story by Malik Abass Daabu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
