Former GHALCA Chairman, Joseph Yaw Appiah, has condemned the acts of violence at Nsoatre which led to the death of a football fan during a Ghana Premier League game.
According to him, the incident is a big stain on the town's image with the unfortunate event happening in the league game between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko.
Francis Frimpong, also known as, Nana Pooley, was the victim of the happenings as he was stabbed to death on February 2, 2025.
Speaking on JoyNews' Prime Take with Muftawu Abdulai Nabila, J.Y Appiah, admitted the wrongdoing in the act.
"This is very bad. Whatever the situation was, we should have been a little patient because this is football. It's rather unfortunate," he said.
"This is a big blot to the Nsoatre town, me and then Nsoatreman. I wish we don't mention it. It's very painful, very sad, disgraceful and very unfortunate. It was unwarranted and shouldn't have happened at all."
Following the occurrence, there has been seven arrests made by the Ghana Police Service while the Ghana Football Association has also taken measures as they probe into the matter.
