The National Identification Authority says it appreciates the keen interest shown by the public in participating in its Mass Registration Exercise. The Authority said it is doing everything possible to rectify concerns of the public regarding how quickly applicants can be processed as they present themselves at centres.Registration is currently underway in the Central Region. As a result of the concerns, the Authority said it will by Monday, July 14, 2008, augment its registration team with 200 Mobile Registration operators who will be deployed where they are most needed.Mobile registration units will move to settlements isolated from the current registration centres in order to reach those unable to come to the centres due to ill health, old age or disability.“The National Identification Authority will like to plead for patience and wishes to assure the public that every eligible person will be registered,” the Authority said in a press release.
