The National Youth Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Ludwig Hlodze, says the Tertiary Education Institution Network [TEIN] will be positioned as a catalyst to galvanizing support for the NDC on campuses across the nation through intellectual discourse and initiatives which would be out-doored at this weekend’s national TEIN Conference at the Winneba Sports College.
Mr Hlodze was speaking ahead of the national TEIN conference which comes off from Friday to Sunday on the theme “Better Ghana Agenda, Rejuvenating our structures with discipline and Volunteerism for Victory 2012”.
The the Conference is expected to attract over 400 delegates from 87 tertiary Institutions and campuses nation-wide, including regional youth organizers and their deputies, Ministers of state and government appointees.
“This Conference is to afford the youth wing of the National Democratic Congress, the opportunity to appraise views expressed by member institutions on various party and national issues raised at forums during the just ended regional tours by the National Youth Organiser and his Deputies. The conference will further provide the platform for executives of TEIN and the various Regional Youth Organisers and resource persons to brainstorm on initiatives we wish to take as leaders of the youth wing, to strategically position TEIN to attract, retain and sustain membership throughout the country. TEIN will also be re-oriented towards the growing needs of the party so the organization can provide a solid research base and to engage more in intellectually driven activities for the party towards Victory 2012,” Mr. Hlodze stated.
His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana , John Dramani Mahama, is expected to open the conference at 10am on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Aggrey Hall on the South Campus of the University of Education, Winneba.
Speakers at the Conference will include Dr. Kwabena Adjei, the NDC National Chairman, Mr. PV. Obeng, Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission; Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development; Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, an Energy Expert among others.A Communique is expected to be issued at the end of the Conference.
