The ability of today’s Ghanaian youth to DREAM, Focus, Perform and Achieve will be celebrated at the maiden edition of the National Youth Achievers Awards (NYAA) scheduled for the Conference Center in Accra on Thursday October 25, 2012.The National Youth Achievers Award (NYAA) is a national recognition platform designed to publicly honour exceptional youths between the ages of 15 - 35, who have excelled in various sectors of the country, with the hope of preparing them for responsible leadership. With the institution of this award scheme, Ghana has become one of the over 100 countries in the world who are demonstrating their interest in the future of their country, by identifying and rewarding excellence and hard work, thereby encouraging their youths to eschew these values. It was launched in July by HE The President John Dramani Mahama who is the patron of the Awards Scheme. As part of the Main Awards Day activities, there will be a JOB & YOUTH ENTREPRENEURIAL FAIR to match employers with potential employees, as well as match young budding graduates with great business ideas, with funding possibilities. The Job Fair is designed to speak directly to the unemployment difficulty facing the youths in Ghana, especially unemployed graduates. It will feature over 50 Ghana Club 100 companies and recruitment agencies, all with vacant positions for employment, as well as Government agencies. It also includes micro-finance companies who will be on hand to study business plans and discuss possible finance options, as one of intentions of the Fair is to nudge the youth who have recently graduated from tertiary institutions towards entrepreneurship through the generation of workable business ideas rather than joining the long queue of unemployed graduates seeking employment. There will also be seminars on Career Guidance, Entrepreneurial skills, Job Interviews, and personality testing running throughout the day. If you are a final year student or unemployed graduate you don’t want to miss this opportunity. The day will climax in the evening at 7pm with the main awards ceremony where National Youth Achievers’ Awards will be presented by His Excellency President John Mahama, to Ghana’s Youth Achievers, in a glitzy and classy night featuring the best of entertainment from Ghana’s Young Stars.Deserving Young Achievers from 24 fields of endeavour will be awarded.
