For the first time in the history of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), School of Law, a student has graduated with first-class honours.
The young woman who made herself, family and school proud by this feat is, Naziha Amin Gombilla.
The Tamale native graduated from the UPSA School of Law with an FCGPA of 3.72. Being the only student with a First Class, means Miss Gombilla was the valedictorian of the year group.

She is also an alumnus of the Accra Girls High School with interests in learning new languages and participating in student leadership.
Miss Gombilla began her journey at UPSA in 2018 when she enrolled in the Bachelor of Law degree programme.

The first class graduate later became the Vice President of the UPSA Law School and set out to be a mentor who helps younger students appreciate the law.
She tutored many students at the UPSA Law School which led her to become a household name in the institution.

In her Valedictorian speech, Miss Gombilla was thankful to her lecturers and faculty heads for their impact not just on her life but on her colleagues as well.
“When I wrote my West African School Certificate Examination, I failed mathematics, I had to stay home for a year so I could re-write this subject. Though tough it was, I am proud to announce to you that, this setback was not a setback. It was the beginning of multiple opportunities for me,” she said.
The first-class graduate added that “personally, I see this moment of our graduation as a call to service for Ghana, Africa and the world. Instead of burying our skills, let us use them to promote Ghana and our beloved alma mater.”

Later in an interview, Miss Gombilla noted that becoming the best graduating student in the School of Law was an aim she set out for herself in her second year.

She stated that this was after she found out that UPSA had not yet recorded a first class from the law school.

Although she struggled at times, Miss Gombilla said giving up was not an option and she was determined to make her family proud.
