A group of NDC party activists in Tanzui in the Upper East region have threatened to resign from the party, accusing leadership of failing to fulfill its campaign promises.
The activists claim party executives gave them assurances of jobs during the 2008 elections but have failed to honor it.
Spokesperson for the group Dennis Abulbire told Joy News they have failed to even secure placements at the National Youth Employment programmes despite several efforts.
“We have suffered for the party and does not deserve to be treated this way by the party and the government as well.
“We are therefore calling on the Upper East Regional Minister and the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive to take a second look at the following concerns;
“Since the assumption of office none of the our members have been employed not even through the National Youth Employment Programme.
“A good number of us have applied to the scheme but none has been employed as at now,” he lamented.
The group reminded government that Tanzui is a political stronghold of the NDC adding that the party will suffer the consequences if it fails to heed their call.
