Parties in the election dispute at the Supreme Court say they have begun sensitization programmes to manage the aftermath of the court’s ruling regarding the ongoing election petition.As the Supreme Court prepares to wrap up the case, the parties involved in the dispute are intensifying education for their supporters as they begin to manage post-verdict reactions.The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will start a nationwide campaign beginning Sunday August 11, 2013, to sensitise its members ahead of the Supreme Court’s pronouncement of a judgment on the 2012 election dispute.Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organiser for the NDC told Joy News executives of the party from five regions in the northern sector will converge in the Bono Ahafo Regional capital, Sunyani, on Sunday, while those for the southern sector will meet in Accra on Tuesday, to be sensitised on managing post-verdict reactions.First National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Fred Oware on the other hand said, supporters of his party are well conditioned to accept the verdict whichever way it goes.According to Mr. Oware, "the most critical thing is to ensure that the Supreme Court gives a ruling based on law and evidence".The court is due to deliver its verdict by August ending following months of arguments aimed at convincing the nine-member panel, for and against the petitioners' request to annul nearly four million votes, due what they say were statutory violations, irregularities and malpractices.
