Executive Director of the Centre for Democratic Development Prof. Emmanuel Gyimah Boadi says the DFP's merger with NDC has no electoral significance. According to him the re-union is normal and will have little impact on election 2012. The Democratic Freedom Party over the weekend concluded a merger agreement with the ruling NDC after months of negotiations. Its party chairman Dr. Obed Asamoah says they have rejoined the NDC because of thriving democracy. However Prof. Gyimah Boadi says there is nothing special about the merger. “Parties are free to merge and breakup any time. I think it is part of the political process, it is part of the political game; it is normal, it is certainly no news to me.”
