The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday emerged from their marathon National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting with the election of officers and leaders for various party structures.
The mood as the party leaders emerged from the Royal Ravico Hotel at Nungua where the marathon meeting was held, was one of satisfaction as members wore broad smiles.
Among the structures whose leaders and chair persons were completed were the Political Committee, to be chaired by President J.E.A. Mills or in his absence, the Vice President, John Dramani Mahama; Council of Elders to be chaired by ex-President Jerry Rawlings; Communications Committee: Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; and Finance Committee: Captain (rtd) Butah (Chairman).
A Legal Committee whose membership was also composed, will have to elect a chairman when the committee members meet.
Other committees were the Social Committee chaired by A.S.K. Bagbin; the Complaints and Conflict Resolution chaired by Huudu Yahaya; the Economic Committee chaired by George Sipa Yankey: the International Relations Committee chaired by Kofi Attoh and the Elections Committeechaired by P.K. Abbonie.
