Mr David Nana Labie, a legal practitioner was elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Awutu-Senya Constituency in Election 2008 over the weekend.
He polled l26 out of the 242 votes cast to beat Alhaji Baba Abu Lamin Sadat, Former Member of Parliament for the area who had 66 votes while Nuhum Adams, a teacher at Kasoa Nsania Senior High School had 46 votes.
The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Office of the Electoral Commission conducted the elections at Awutu Bawjiase.
Madam Ama Benyinwa Doe, National Women's Organiser of NDC addressing the delegates urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the NDC during Election 2008.
Mr Labie expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and called for cooperation from members of the party to work hard to win the seat from New Patriotic Party (NPP).
