Mr Joseph Bernard Boadu 53, an Educationist was on Sunday elected unopposed as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Nhyieso Constituency in Kumasi.
The 150 delegates at the congress who responded positively to the choice from Mrs Dina Osei Asibey, Bantama/Ridge Nhyieso/Kwadaso Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission (EC) carried Mr Boadu shoulder high amidst the Party’s anthem.
In an acceptance speech, Mr Boadu called on members to unite and work together with love and unity of purpose to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Boadu who lit a perpetual flame for the battle ahead called on members and supporters of the NDC to be resolute and work hard at all levels to return the Party to power.
Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, Ashanti Regional Chairman of NDC appealed to branch executives of the party to select committed and devoted polling agents who would not let the party down during the December elections.
He called on the Parliamentary Candidate to be committed to the cause of the Party and work hard for victory and stressed the need for members and supporters to support the candidate and work with him to win the seat.
Madam Joana Appiah-Dwomo, a Leading Member of the Party called on members to be abreast with facts and figures to educate the electorate to vote for NDC.
She said Ghanaians were aware of the economic hardships in the country and an NDC Government would improve the economy.
Mr Benjamin Badu, Ridge/Nhyieso NDC Chairman pledged their support for Mr Boadu to win the seat.
