Peeved and scared about more leakages from their fold, the National Democratic Congress has set in motion a machinery to track down people suspected to have leaked the proceedings of its recent "family meeting."
The Daily Guide newspaper reports that sources say the NDC is embarrassed by media publications detailing the proceedings at the crisis meeting held at the instance of party founder J.J Rawlings.
It said the NDC promises getting to the bottom of the matter.
Already names of some personalities have been noted as possible suspects, Daily Guide says it has learnt.
According to its source, the party leadership was worried about what it described as the growing influence of fifth columnists and would do everything to unmask the faces behind the media leakage.
The NDC was particularly embarrassed by the in-depth accounts of the highly charged family meeting where the party founder and other leading members of the party tongue-lashed the flagbearer, John Evans Atta Mills for not doing enough to win the 2008 elections.
The paper says previous leaks had been blamed on people suspected to be close to former National Chairman, Dr. Obed Asamoah. However, they were shocked that after the exit of the Obed Boys, details of a meeting could find itself on the pages of certain newspapers.
A similar meeting held last year at the Kama Confer¬ence Centre, Labone Junction, Accra was equally leaked to the media, and a party supporter was reportedly busted with a tape recorder at the loo.
This might have informed the leadership's decision to ask participants at last Tuesday's meeting to put off their cell phones.
