Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Alfred Agbeshie has cautioned the Mills administration over the re-engagement of retired public servants.
He said the practice worsens the graduate youth unemployment situation in the country.
Speaking to Joy News on Thursday, the MP said his office has been flooded with CV’s of graduates of all levels of education requesting him to find jobs for them, but his efforts have become hopeless.
He said most of the positions he suggested had been taken over by the retirees.
According to him, any appointment given to a retired public servant is a job opportunity lost to the youth.
Mr. Agbeshie dismissed assertions that the graduates lacked the requisite employable skills needed in the job market.
He would not accept the excuse that the graduates lacked experience, retorting, if they are not employed how would they get the requisite experience?
He warned that the youth are getting increasingly frustrated and demanded a halt of the practice.
