The Members of Parliament elected from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have occupied seats on the majority side in parliament.
Ahead of the dissolution of the 7th parliament, the NDC MPs were seen taking the names of the NPP MPs, who initially occupied that side, off the desks.
For about 20 minutes Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery and the Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul were left trying to convince the minority to move back to their seats.

However, after the NDC MPs refused to move, the NPP had to take their seats at the minority side.
Currently, both parties have the 137 seats each in Parliament, with an Independent Candidate who has chosen to sit on the side of the NPP.
On Tuesday, leadership of the NDC had instructed their members to address them as the majority side in Parliament.
The party had also nominated Alban Sumani Bagbin as the next Speaker of the House.
In an interview with JoyNews' Elton Brobbey, the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery described the action of the minority as a forceful takeover.
According to him, there is still a few hours to go before the 7th parliament is dissolved, hence the move by the Minority is unnecessary.
Meanwhile, the NDC MP-elect for Assin North also made an appearance in parliament despite the court injunction that indicates he cannot be sworn in.
