The National Democratic Congress has opened nominations for all its sitting MPs nationwide.
The nominations, which opened today, will close on December 23.
This was announced by General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu-Nketia Thursday morning at a news conference in Accra at which the party also spelt out the dos and don’ts for the conduct of primaries in constituencies where it has sitting MPs.
He said, hopefully, by the 21st of January 2010 would have finished with the party’s primaries across the country.
The party pegged the filing fees at GH¢5,000, but the amount was slashed by 50% for aspiring women.
NDC’s Propaganda Secretary Richard Quashigah explained to Joy News’ Anny Osabutey “the reason being that the NDC wants to encourage more women to be part of the whole political process”.
