Ahead of today's presidential and parliamentary primaries, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has advised aspirants against camping of delegates.
The warning was contained in a communique issued by the NDC Volta Regional Secretariat at the end of its regional stakeholders meeting in Sogakope in the South Tongu Constituency.
The concern has been the modus operandi in times past with certain aspirants camping delegates to deny their opponent's access and also use the period to influence the voting decision of delegates.
The NDC believes eschewing this practice will provide an equal playground for all aspirants to engage the delegates in the dying minutes of the campaign period.
The communique also indicated that seven flashpoints have been identified across the region adding that no delegate would be allowed to go to any of the election venues with personal security.
“Additionally, security for the primaries will be by the Ghana Police Service. Currently, there are seven flashpoints (constituencies).
"Any constituency that does not ensure a smooth process leading to the election, elections in such areas may be put on hold”, it stated.
Party faithful were entreated to ensure a free, fair and transparent election “such that after the declaration of results, the NDC will be the eventual winner”.
