General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia has questioned the logic and Mathematical competency of the NPP barely hours after the NPP held a press conference on Friday, to confirm it has filed a case against the electoral commission.
Speaking on behalf of the NDC, at a Press Conference in Accra, Johnson Asiedu Nketia maintained this year’s election has been cleaner than any other year with the NPP contradicting itself.“It means by their own calculation, the Electoral commission’s process has been cleaner than ever before”. He said.He questioned the logic and Mathematical abilities of the NPP. “I have maintained all along that the NPP has a problem with logic and mathematics”, he added.Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the NPP contradicted itself when it came out to hold a press conference declaring they had won the elections and that the electoral commission had done a great job even though they were not the ones to announce the winner. He added, “The question to ask is whether his (Nana Addo's) campaign team consulted him before declaring at a press conference that Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the NDC should concede".He said the NPP should rather have translated that press conference into vigilance instead of self-declaration.Johnson Asiedu Nketia expressed shock that Nana Addo claims all that matters in the electoral process is voting “Nana Addo is now telling us the credibility of the electoral commission doesn’t matter. But if people just vote and go to sleep; there must be a system to put together the results.”He was responding to an NPP press conference held earlier on Friday to announce that it had filed a petition at the Supreme Court, challenging the validy of the December election results.
